Breast Lift

After giving birth or breastfeeding, many women may experience loss of fullness and sagging problems on their breasts. As the breast skin loses its elasticity, the formation of a shapeless and saggy chest is extremely natural.

Breast lift operation is an appropriate option for women with normal breasts, but sometimes it may need to be combined with breast augmentation. Breast lift surgery is a surgical attempt to reshape and regain its ideal appearance. Unlike breast augmentation or reduction operation, it does not seriously affect the size of the breast. After this operation, the feeling in the chest is fuller and nipple will be in its normal anatomical location. The final shape of the breast will appear after about 6 months. The whole surgical procedure will be aimed at leaving minimum surgical scars. Despite all this careful work, it should be remembered that there will be scar after this operation. These will not be seen as they will remain hidden under the outfit regardless the size of the worn underwear.

Am I Suitable for This Operation?

Whether you are suitable for breast lift operation can easily be revealed through an interview. During this interview, your overall health will be reviewed to obtain the best and healthiest outcome. In normal-sized breasts, lifting operation is very successful and long-term lasting, but in larger breasts, sagging may be observed soon after lifting. In these cases, there may be a need for breast reduction. It will be better for women who want to have a baby again to postpone this operation. It is recommended that women who consider this surgery but who smoke should stop smoking for a problem-free recovery. Every woman expects a breast according to her physical structure. Whether the operation will meet your personal expectations or not will be determined during the interview. During the examination, the most ideal method that will meet your expectations will be explained in detail depending on the skin elasticity, size and structure of the breast tissue.

What Type of Anesthesia is Administered?

Breast lift operation is performed under general anesthesia and the duration is approximately 2-3 hours.

Is The Operation Painful?

In the first few days after operation, mild or moderate pain may occur, requiring you to take painkillers. Within 5-6 days the pain will be significantly reduced.

What Does This Operation Contain?

Drawings are made on the breast to get an ideal result before the operation. As a result of these drawings, the new position of the nipple and the amount of skin to be taken are determined. The incisions are determined beforehand depending on the size and sagging of the breast. After operation chest area will be covered with bandage.

How Long Will I Stay in Hospital?

Breast lift operation may require overnight hospitalization.

What Happens After Operation?

When you wake up after the operation, there will be serum in your arm or back of your hand to deliver fluid through the vascular access. Serum will be taken after 6-8 hours and you will slowly start taking juicy food by mouth. You will have mild pain that will require you to use regular painkillers for a few days after operation. Walking and moving after surgery will contribute to recovery process as it will affect blood circulation positively.

If deemed necessary and placed, the drain tubes will be removed within 1-2 days.

What Changes Should I Expect Immediately After Operation

After the operation, there will be swelling and bruising on the chest. Bruises can last for 2-3 weeks. If the breast lift operation is not combined with the breast reduction operation you still can breastfeed in the future in case of the fact that you have a baby. There is no loss of sensation in the nipple after this operation.

How is The Scar Like?

The scars are not complications. The length of the scars is all about the severity of the sagging. It will take months for the wound to recover. Initially red, itchy and a little stiff, the wound will gradually get skin color.

What Kind of Problems May I Encounter During and After The Operation?

Just like in all plastic operations, when an experienced surgeon performs a surgery, the risks are considerably reduced but the risk is never zero. In spite of experience, knowledge and care, there are some possible adversities such as infection and bleeding which may occur in early periods. Risks are minimized with a meticulous surgical approach, technique and precaution. Swelling and bruisings after operation is a normal result of the postoperative period. However, excessive swelling and a serious pain in addition will be a sign that it will be followed by bleeding. Standing up and moving in the early period will have a positive effect on blood circulation.

How Long Does It Take to Return to Normal?

It should always be remembered that healing is gradual. Always rest well during the first few days after operation and avoid any work other than those that are mild. You should be careful not to smoke before and after the operation. Heavy work should be avoided for 6 weeks.
